In this journal the author talked about the case study of a “Dream of a Dreamer” in this case Stephanie’s dream that happened at the time where her condition had become life threatening, and how dreams interpretations had been ignored on the treatment and therapy for patients with eating disorders, but most of the time patients mentioned dreams and how significant that can be for them for a recover of an eating …show more content…
The procedures consist in collect dreams from patients with eating disorders aver the period of days or weeks and then code the dreams thematically, from the ones that does not need any explanation to the ones that obviously shows a life threating situation.
• What is measured. According to the article, in this case what it is try to measured is the recover of individuals with eating disorders, but as is mentioned by Hillman’s “studying the exceptional case”.and how the dram content may reflect the severity of the symptomatology.
• How did they measured this. Methodologically the determination of the state of the disorder linked with the individual relationship to the disorder at the time of the dream.
Results
Based on the research and the Stephanie’s case on dreams and eating disorders, dreams are examples of representational symbolism and according with Freud “unresolved conflict in the patient’s life narrative”, however, Hunt see dreams as a symbolism of symbols having multiple meanings rather than a single, fixed
