In this chapter, the authors insist that the adolescent stage foundation determines and adolescents success in the job market. An adolescent who is used to a lazy life both at home and in school translates the same in the workplace and even if the adolescent finds their dream job opportunity, they end up underperforming and eventually lose the job. The authors insist that it is imperative that an adolescent dot let the fleeting pleasures of adolescence rob them of the diligence that is required in the latter stages of life. Hence, little or no burden is placed on the youths to provide for the family making them irresponsible and unfocused at an early stage. The authors pinpoint a small disadvantage in this setup, stating that the youth does not acquire enough experience in matters related to making plans and setting goals for the family. This is merely achieved by direct observation of the parents, which is sometimes insufficient as they are apart for the greater parts of the day.
