The concert of the music from Appalachia was unique. I enjoyed it a lot for it not only was musically pretty, but there was substance and meaning to the words. These songs were stories of the struggles and triumphs of the people. During the concert, I felt the emotion and the presence of the people and afterwards I felt a sense of gratefulness for all that I have. I imagine the people from Appalachia contributing to the beauty and culture of their community as any other people of a community add to the beauty of theirs. Each group of people and even individuals bring a unique aspect to their community that enhances and diversifies it. This group of Appalachian musicians gave a glimpse into their community and the special qualities it has.
