Reiterating what we discussed earlier, that Wind energy in U.S. has the potential to generate about 1.5 times the current U.S. demand, even the 20% penetration of wind by 2030 as projected by the U.S. government, can have a significant impact on the carbon emissions and reduction in the demand of fossil fuels (exhaustible energy sources). As a study conducted by NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory), the cumulative carbon emissions reduction of 2100 MMTCE (Million Metric tonnes of Carbon Emission) can be achieved just by the penetration of 20% Wind Energy. Furthermore during the 20 year life cycle of wind turbine additional 4000 MMTCE of carbon emissions can be avoided. Also by replacing coal with wind energy will decrease the water usage
