The Republican party started in the 1950’s by anti-slavery activist, the actual name “republican” was chosen to reflect equality. Abraham Lincoln was America's first Republican president and under him we got the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendment abolishing slavery. The party was also the first to support women's suffrage and most of the states the ratified were republican (“What). Today the Republican party still stands for equality and is based around the people.

Yes the idea of every person having the ability to have health care sounds great, but it has put such a strain on the middle class and small businesses. The AAF or American Action Forum reflects that small businesses had to cut wages by at least $22.6 billion every year because of the laws regulations and increased premiums (Pipes). Insurance companies fund candidates campaigns, but there is a catch, they have to do what they say and it is a corrupt Political machine. The Republican party wants the people to be in charge of their health care not the government.
