A child with depressed parents is five times more likely to become depressed. Research is still being done to indicate whether this is genetic or due to the way the parents interact with the child (Hale 56). Children are less likely to have depression than adults from the age of 18 and older. When children develop the signs of depression you will notice a drastic mood change.
