Argumentative Research Paper Hunting throughout the entire world is not just a sport or hobby; it is much, much more. It is a tradition that is past down from generation to generation. Hunting puts food on the table for families or villages. For example, in West Asia, there was also a tradition of ritual lion hunting for the king. In Northern Europe in the middle Ages, kings kept whole forests for their own private hunting use: (Carr). In other countries, especially, hunting is a way for warriors to show elders that they are brave. However, you have those slight few who either: one they know that they are not hunting legally or two, that do not happen to know that they were hunting illegally. Meaning that every single state has different laws and some people have no problem following them, but others however feel the need to break these laws. Those who choose to break these laws are called one of two things one, unethical hunter, meaning they are not using proper ways to take an animal; and two would be a poacher, this means that you killed an animal out of season or that you killed an animal when the legal hunting times were closed or you simply killed more animals than you were permitted to. Camouflages and disguises were used to conceal the early hunter, who also used nooses, traps, snares, pits, decoys, baits, and poisons. (Britannica). Today hunters spend lots of money on the clothing alone. The specific clothing they buy is camouflaged to the certain areas as well as the time of year, whether it be summer, fall, spring or winter the leaves and trees are in different stages of growth and the landscape changes. Many hunters try to match the clothing with the landscapes they are hunting in. Additionally, in the National Geographic article it mentions multiple ways prey and predators change their identity to blend in with their surroundings. “Camouflage, also called cryptic coloration, is a defense or tactic that organisms use to disguise their appearance, usually to blend in with their surroundings. Organisms use camouflage to mask their location, identity, and movement. This allows prey to avoid predators, and for predators to sneak up on prey.” This is camouflage and what a hunter has to go through to camouflage themselves as well as to protect themselves and keep safe while performing this
