Although today there is nothing wrong with this situation, the exposure to some arts such as film have reinforced this behavior. In order to consider all films as art, they should exhibit some knowledge or awareness that make people think about it. However, there are films of public demand that do not teach anything; in fact, some of them are very corruptive. According to Plato, art that provides a false perception of reality and justice needs to be censored. On this subject Plato writes about the perception that some artworks provide to people, “ ...injustice is profitable when undetected, but that justice is a man’s own loss and another’s gain.” (17). This quote explains well how some kinds of arts, in this case film can distort the reality in a bad way. To illustrate, the film “The Human Centipede” by director Tom Six shows a depraved surgeon fulfilling his sick fantasy of stitching human bodies together in a row. The images in this film are atrocious and dirty-minded. Some artworks depict only one perspective of reality; that is, they offer an individual aspect of a specific subject that might not suit everyone’s points of view. According to this, Plato considered this kind of art as third degree of reality and questioned its usefulness through his example of the painting of a bed. For that, he said the painting is only the imitation of a second degree of reality because it is a copy of a real bed that, in fact, is the copy of the original form of a bed. This is much like some video games that display a particular image of reality.
