What are artificial nails?Artificial nail, “also known as fake,false, fashion nails, nail enhancements, or nail extensions, are coverings placed over fingernails as fashion accessories.”Artificial nails are used by people all over the world for various reasons.There are multiple times of artificial nails that are available.Some are very harmful but some are not at all.
Are all artificial nails harmful? No not all artificial nails are harmful.The ones using a lot of chemicals can wear down your health but, the generic nails from the store you glue on are not very harmful. What are some of the damages caused by artificial nails? “Fungus on the nail bed/plate that is usually caused by improperly artificial nails.”Fingernail ridges,thickened rough nails,discolored nails, and sometimes skin inflammation around the nail.A lot of damage also happens from the chemical used in artificial nails.”The usage of Methyl methacrylate has been outlawed, Ethyl methacrylate is continued to be used for artificial nails, Nail salon workers also face exposures to other chemicals used, such as Toluene, Dibutyl phthalate, and formaldehyde when they are doing artificial nails for clients.”
Are there any ways to prevent the damages?If so how?You can prevent damage by wearing the generic ones from the store.If you do your own acrylics you can prevent some damage by using a protective base coat on your natural nails before you start.There are not ways to prevent damage with gel nails.Also you should take care of your natural nails when you are wearing artificial nails.To prevent infection and damage you have a good upkeep, do not pull or rip off the artificial nail, keep them clean and check around your nail bed/ natural nail to make sure there are not
