Many weapons were used in WWI and WWII. Some weapons were a form of gas, while others were the ammunition shot from firearms. The most destructive weapon was the atomic bomb. The atomic bomb was used by the United States against Japan. It was released on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There is a considerable amount of controversy on whether or not the bombing was the right choice for the leaders of our country to make. I believe that the United States should not have used the atomic bomb because it cost so many Japanese lives.

However, the main influence believed to be the deciding point was that the use of the bomb was predicted to make the Japanese emperor surrender and hasten the war. A multitude of American and Japanese lives had already been lost due to the fighting. This led President Truman and his advisers to the conclusion that the bomb would save more lives rather than prolonging the war.
