Success is something everyone wants to achieve and many are willing to do anything to feel successful. If someone wants to reach success they need to put in effort, practice everyday and willing to go through failure. Many well known scientists, authors, and therapists like Carol Dweck, Angela Duckworth, Jay Mathews, and Daniel Keyes agree with this statement because they shared information and thoughts through articles and videos.

Effort is the first step to being successful, Based on Carol Dweck’s research she writes in her article, “But many people miss out on the chance to grow a stronger brian because they think they can’t do it, or that it’s too hard. It does take work, just like becoming stronger physically or becoming a better ball

Another example is “Besides history, geography, and arithmetic, Miss Kinnian said I should start to learn a few foreign languages. Dr. Strauss gave me some more tapes to play while I sleep.” The author puts this in the story to show how Charlie is improving and he’s willing to go further than he is …show more content…
For example he includes Zoe’s story which is “In preparation for that college competition, Zoe is taking intensified algebra and second-year Spanish, has a voice scholarship at a music school and plays first flute in Swanson’s symphonic band.” Another person Mathews uses is Brad and he tells us how practice is important, “He would come home from school and hand me the flashcards and work on his sight reading” … Now 13, Brad plays clarinet and basketball and earned his black belt in tae kwon do by practicing two hours a day, six days a week for two

We’ve all heard the quotes about success: “Successful people don’t become that way overnight,” “your true success in life begins only when you make the commitment to become excellent at what you do,” “what separates the talented ones from the successful ones is a lot of hard work,” but which ones should we believe? There must be a happy medium; a universal definition for success. Grit, a novel written by Angela Duckworth, defines success as something we must obtain through a “never give up” attitude. She values motivation over a natural talent, because those with the motivation are more often successful compared to those with talents, who may not strive to improve on their innate abilities. You must fulfill your potential, or else it is a waste of talent and you will never be as successful as you could be.…

Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. There are many different suggestions on how to achieve success but the three that I believe are the most important are: have a grateful heart, treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated, and reliance/ never give-up. For a person to have a grateful heart it means that a person must be thankful for everything that they receive from someone or anything that someone does for them. They must be willing to sacrifices sometimes and be willing to help anyone that needs help even if that means that they must disregard their own problems. They must be willing to put others first instead of themselves.…
