The title of this book is Because I Am Furniture. The Characters in the book is Darren , Yaicha ,Angeline , Rona , Coach Roy and Her Family. This book is about a young girl feeling like she’s not getting any attention at home. The is full of poem about how Anke is really feeling. The title is a statement of the theme. Furniture is an large moveable object, but it just don’t talk. Anke feels like furniture because her father ignore her. The author called this book Because I Am Furniture because Anke describes why she feel like an object and not a person in her home.

Anke’s said , “I am always there but they don’t care if i am because i am furniture. I don’t get hit , I don’t get fondled, I don’t get love because I am furniture. Suits me fine (Chaltas, 3). The things that happen to the brother and sister that he beats them, holler at them , sexually abused them , and also spend time with them.
