The results from the surveys did not tell me anything I did not know. I have always known that my belief and affection were always greater than my action and behavior. According to Eagly and Chaiken (1993, p.1), “attitude is a psychological tendency that is expressed by evaluating a particular entity with some degree of favor or disfavor." Where I need to begin or change is becoming a registered voter and let my voice be heard rather than being a bystander. Another way in which I can reduce dissonance is changing my belief about the duties and responsibilities of registered voters. I felt that as a registered voter then I would be called for duty as a juror. Can you imagine that responsibility of deciding whether a person is innocent or guilty?
