“Whoever knows he is deep strives for clarity; whosoever would like to appear deep to the crowd strives for obscurity. For the crowd considers anything deep if only it cannot see the bottom: the crowd is so timid and afraid of going into deep water.” This quote asserts the idea that a person who is well read and knowledgeable knows to seek things on a higher plane of intelligence. While a person who wants to suggest that they are of the same caliber will do things wild and attention seeking to have the world believe that they are on that higher level. History has shown that people are afraid of the unknown and will willingly side with those who can provide answers or insight regardless of how true or untrue it is.
I have had two encounters with African American men who took the concept of black men and women are kings and queens to an entirely new level. It is not unknown that America was built to suppress people of color but the ideologies of these men claimed things like, caucasian government officials were being controlled by aliens or that caucasian people came from dogs or that black women menstruate because they are not on the right dimension.
