The laws in place are federal and state governed. Most of these laws are to protect the company and the customers are number one for the companies. Some of the laws that regulate are federal laws such as FDA processing sectors. These involve 5 different sector that are govern by federal laws. These laws consist of processing sector. If the food is not in interstate commerce it is only govern by state laws. Some state laws that are applied would be adulterated food this means any food that is pesticide or is render can cause injuries to the health of consumers. These foods can consists of any filthy, putrid, or decomposed substance; it can also be contaminated when packed. All of these factors are governed by state laws. Then you have the food that can be misbranded this is regulated by state laws this would mean that a food is not labeled correctly. These companies must insure that the foods that are being processed have the correct labels. That nothing is altered or that is can be misleading to the customers.
