Gastin gave the class so many tips regarding seeking employment and interviewing. The first thing she told us was to take a risk. If you wait for the perfect time to apply for a principal position it will never come. Just apply for your dream just and who knows you just might get it! After graduation, Dr Gastin stressed the importance of getting certified while the information is still fresh in your head. When you are applying for a job make sure that you address the human resource representative by their real name. Also make sure that your resume and cover letter is flawless. Before you interview with a school, do your homework. Know about them and be prepared to ask questions. Practice responding to interviewing questions and have specific scenarios already thought of before the question is asked. In order to keep everyone safe, access to the building will limited. Doors will be locked at all times and visitors will need to request access through a security camera. Emergency plans will be practiced, anticipated, and understood by all patrons. Safety plans will be communicated to parents and media. Frequent school security assessments will be done. The building will also be well maintained. I will personally know the maintenance and custodial staff and their schedules. The appearance of the building will be evaluated and inspected frequently.
