According to David Wilson’s article; The Part of “Illegal” They Don’t Understand, the term illegal was brought by the patrols units within the U.S-Mexico border. At that time they worried about alcohol and some years later about drugs. But they were also in the boom of construction, and America was in need of labor force. Before 9/11 the U.S government invited Mexicans to come to their country to be farmers. Since in world war two, men were fighting. Government had no other choice. But even before that, they still employed Mexicans to build railroads and roadways. When they decided to stay, and work in different things, it was catalogued as illegal work.
