In biblical times people exercised in different ways then people do today. The majority of the exercise was from walking or riding an animal to get somewhere. Technological advances have incredibly reduced the amount of people who exercise in this way. In modern times many people simply drive in their cars or fly in planes when they need to go places. They typically don’t even ride their bike, which provides more exercise than driving but is faster than walking. For example, In the bible it talks about Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem. They traveled 65 miles on foot or donkey. They also had to carry all their supplies either on their backs or on the donkey.

In Genesis 1:29, “And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.” These foods were much better for the body than the foods we eat today. If Americans reduced the amount of processed foods and ate more natural foods, they would be healthier and happier. Christians are in a much better position to cope with stress than non-believers. They always have God as a comfort and redeemer to help them with their lives get stressful. God will always take the believers stresses from them and help them to cope with stress. In 1 Peter 5:7, believers are encouraged to, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Biblical stress was not uncommon. Many of the bible time believers endured much persecution from the government and fellow citizens because of their faith. This caused stress in their lives, because they had to try and save their family. Many Americans don’t have to endure this type of life and death stress like the early Christians, but we do have stress in many different ways. By learning from a biblical perspective on exercise, stress, and nutrition we can increase our productively, health, and happiness. Although we may not have to live in the biblical time, we can become better because of studying
