Citing a small example, when Bisleri raised the price of 20 Liter bottle, the demand didn’t go down but instead it had a steep growth from 18000 units to 56000 units in Southern Bangalore region. This clearly indicates the inelastic nature of the B2B business. This is because there are only few players in this segment and too local without much credibility.
In B2C business i.e. mainly smaller packing of Bisleri, the demand is elastic. As a change in price will affect the demand of the product sales. Thus reducing price seemed like a win-win situation for the company and the customer. Also, it would help reduce plastic waste which would find a lot of support from the government
