People look at the world using different perspectives. The perspectives offer scaffolding that assists in organizing raw experience of one’s world. These perspectives can be referred to as frames. Bolman and Deal (2008) noted that no one person uses a single frame for all time, but often people show the preference for a particular frame. Bolman and Deal (2008) used the term frame to refer to lenses that allow people to order their experience. They identified four frames through which people especially leaders view their organization and world in general, these are, political, structural, human resource, and symbolic. The next major skill is the ability to integrate and accommodate the concerns and needs of these stakeholders. The last major skill is increasing the ability to negotiate ticking points, accommodate multiple views, and ability to come up with an integrative solution. The image of a leader in this frame is an advocate, political strategist, and negotiator. The basic leadership task negotiates, bargain, set agendas, build coalitions, and manage conflicts. The leadership logic is to distribute justice where the frame emphasizes allocation of scarce resources and allocation. The main leadership assumptions are resources are scarce, differences are enduring, main decisions entails who gets what, and conflicts are inevitable. Areas of analysis in this frame are conflict, power, resources, agendas, interests, and alliances.
