My car had slowed lights flickering and the engine cutting out every so often. I pulled off to the side just as the sound of the car running cut out. I turned my keys over and over only resulting in the car spluttering and cutting off. I got out of my car the sound of the woods surrounding me being the only noise. I went to the front of my car and opened the hood though I didn’t know what was wrong with it. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to call for some help only to see that I had no signal and my phone was almost dead. I slammed the hood down and turned walking down the road in the direction I was going before. Great, this cannot get any worse I sighed thinking to myself just as freezing rain poured down onto me. I groaned in annoyance as I …show more content…
Is anyone here? My car broke down and I need help fixing it!” I waited for a bit to see if I can hear anyone though I didn’t get a response making me knock again, “Hello? Is anyone home?” I spoke louder seeing if someone hadn’t heard me. I then waited again and didn’t hear a response I then reached forward grabbing the doorknob quickly pulling back shocked when it twisted and the door slowly opened. I slowly walked in to see a dusty living room the furniture covered in sheets everything having a large layer of dust covering it. I sighed in disappointment, it looks like someone hasn’t been here in years. I stepped inside still having hope that I could find a phone or anything to help me with the car. I looked around, the darkness tricking my eyes into seeing shadows of things that weren’t there. A loud bang came from upstairs making me jump and let out a squeak. My heart was racing but curiosity got the best of me and I slowly made my way up the old creaky stairs. I peered down the hall way seeing a door cracked open at the end of the hallway a small light coming from the room. I crept down the hallway slowly opening the door to see a calico cat sitting in the

Ted's wishes By jacob Kothe When it comes to driving a stick shift manual car, you can get a little stressed out. What I mean by that when you're driving around the neighborhood with your instructor (my dad) he makes you turn, a lot stop on hills, and insures that you stop at a stop sign, when you think that he insures that you stop at stop signs you think of something else. You have to go up to the sign and push down on the clutch. And stop at the sign press down the gas and slowly let off the clutch. You would think that's pretty easy, but if you overload the transmission, then your car dies, you have to start it back up and if you you let of the clutch off to fast the car starts bouncing and won't stop bouncing so you just keep bouncing.…

The tragic truth is that crashes are the number one cause of death for people between the ages of 15 to 20 in the United States of America. Anna Quindlen’s essay “Driving to the Funeral” went into the dangers of teen driving, by showing parents not being strict enough with their kids, the poor enforcement of the law, and teenagers being too irresponsible. Even though, there are many teens that were injured or even worse killed, parents are still taking the right of driving very easily onto their kids. Mrs. Quindlen said “Parents seem to treat the right of a 16-year-old to drive as an inalienable one.” Mrs. Quindlen criticized parents very heavily on allowing their kids to drive at such a young age.…

I walked to the front door to look through the peep hole but, due to my five foot stature, all I could see was the top of my porch. I listened quietly through the door. I never answered the door when I was home alone, some habit I had gotten after being reminded by my mother a thousand times, and I had a system worked out with my friends that they would yell through the door if it was them. I waited patiently but I heard nothing but flies buzzing and dogs parking from far away. I started to walk back to the office, chalking it up to the neighborhood kids when I heard my back gate open.…

I slowly searched the attic and found no trace of the calculator, as I made my way back to the stairs that lead to the attic I lost balance and stepped on a old floor board, it called me out, letting out a loud groan that revealed me to anything that was hiding in the darkness. I froze in my tracks, hoping that none of the silent shadows were hiding in the darkness of the attic. Almost in an instant, a silent shadow emerged from seemingly out of thin air, it let out the most terrifying sound that I would not have guessed they were capable of creating, it began laughing like a small girl would, starting out with small giggles then slowly changing to loud shrieks of high pitched laughter while taking slow, long, steps towards me. I felt goosebumps form on my arms a shiver ran down my back. I sprinted down the stairs and…

How to Handle a Crash at Night Step 1: Remain calm- Even the best drivers get into crashes from time to time, but it is important for you to stay calm. Driving school rarely teaches how panic can cause you to make bad decisions that could damage either your health or finances in the long-run. Therefore, take a minute to get yourself together and plan how you will proceed to get out of your situation. Disbelieve and fear shook my mind as I lie on my back, sitting on top of concrete sandwiched in between the hot metal hood of a car, as the weight pressed down against me it didn’t hurt, my body was too numb to feel anything. All I could feel was a car pushing me further into the ground pushing my lungs down and shutting air out of it. It felt too surreal I kept blinking as if I thought I’d wake up from this mess. I could see sirens and people gathering around me watching in disbelieve, I kept fading in and out of conscience I felt like I was close to death.…
