Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, Rebecca Katzman, who advised she hasn’t seen or heard from her son for about 2 days and he is worried for his well fare. Kazman advised her son, David Ellis has not been to work also and he has been depressed lately over his recent father’s death. Kazman advised the last time she seen Ellis, was on 1/4/16 at dinner around 1900 hrs. While clearing the residence I found a white male subject laying flat on his back with a plastic bag over his head. I did not locate a pulse and the subject was cold to the touch and stiff. Largo fire Department station 38 arrived on scene moments later. Paramedic Enthq advised that he pronounced David Ellis deceased at 1300 hrs. No action could be taken to resuscitate Enthq. Largo FD Run #7003062. Corporal Osgood requested Sheriff’s Forensics to come to the scene for photographs.
Upon my observation, Ellis had a dust off can near his right hip and another empty can near his right hand. Ellis had pajama pants, on with no shirt. The deceased had multiple tobacco products and Playstation products on his bed. Ellis showed no signs of disturbance, I was able to identified him as David Daniel Ellis by his DL which was in his wallet beside him.
While searching his rooms for other clues involving his death I found a safe located on the northwest side of the bedroom which contained multiple empty pill bottles which had Alprazolam and Zubsolv in them. Also in the safe was a small plastic bag which contained green leafy substances that appeared to be marijuana, and a pipe. The deceased also had two BB guns inside of the
