According to multiple empirical sources, bullying is any behavior that physically or verbal cause intentional harm to another individual to achieve a domineering power over the victim (all sources). Bullying is an imbalance of power among the bullied and bully (all sources). Even within modern times, a new technology that allows users to post information on widely used social medias; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, has created the new form of bullying- cyberbullying (all sources (wilson, Patterns). Peer support, parental involvement, and school administrative staff have a duty to counteract bullying before or after it has occurred. No child or parent should have to go through this maladaptive social behavior. Prevention measures must be used at all cost to alleviate this anti-social response. Once the maladaptive behavior is seen by an adult or peer then the next step to get the bullied and victim to a school counselor. Using “role-playing, peer mediation, modeling, group discussions and classroom meeting” have been listed as helpful tools for counseling bullying (Bauman, p. 848). All parties must be vigilant and doing their part to stop bullying before it picks up steam and causes an otherwise preventive
