They all had different religions, had different ways of organizing the social pyramid, and completely different reasons for coming to America. In the south they were all just a lot of Protestants that later turned to Catholics in all states except for in Maryland. They were not as religious as the other thirteen colonies just because people there came seeking a better life. In the south they had a pretty basic way of organizing the social pyramid. They basically had three classes and those were the indentured servants and slaves, the poor people who could not afford slaves or servants, and lastly the slave traders and plantation owners. Their reasons for coming to America because most people were in search of a better life and many people came over because they had a debt they could not pay back. In the middle colonies they were very religious people although they believed you didn’t need a bible or a priest to worship God they thought that worship was simple and that daily worship was not required. Occupation and social status was very well thought out in the middle colonies because they had a system. The main jobs included things like fisherman and farmers. The upper class had the best educated people, and they were all very wealthy but this was a very small part of the population. The middle class mainly consisted of farmers and merchants many could not all could afford education. And the lower class mostly consisted of sailors and apprentices and only a very small amount of this class could afford education. The reason for coming to America for the middle was for religious freedom and money. In New England religion was a big part of their lives. There were a lot of puritans which meant they regarded the reformation of the British church. The social organization wasn’t very pronounced here. There were different jobs that people had to do that had different pay but
