As per IC3 internet fraud report 2013, 55.4% victims were males, 75% of the victims were contacted by emails. Florida, Washington, Oregon, Missouri and Georgia are top five states in U.S. that have the most identity theft complaints filed.
Identity theft of children: The Identity Theft Resource Center has reported that 2 or 3 cases of child identity theft are being taken every week, which is around 104-156 child victim per year. Even though this is a very minimal percentage of the overall number of identity theft, but in case of child identity theft, often crime committed is undetected for long until the child reaches a certain age.
Deceased as identity theft victims: There are not many reports available on the statistics of deceased personal data being used in identity theft.
