On 06/01/2018 at approximately 2343 hours, I, Deputy A. Martinez Vazquez responded to 3050 Healing Place, Oviedo, Seminole County, FL., in reference to a juvenile battering a staff member of the facility. When I arrived, I observed a juvenile by the name of Diallo Xavier Fitzgerald (B/M DOB: 01/29/2003) sitting on a chair in the dining room area surrounded by other facility staff members. Diallo had noticeable scratches on his face, his forehead and nose appeared to be swollen. I first spoke with the staff member who Diallo allegedly assaulted by the name of Antonio Anton Young (B/M DOB: 10/02/1982). Antonio is a staff member of Boys Town and is entrusted as a caregiver for the facility at the time of the incident.…
Some students were building a tower with blocks and after the teacher called him over to bring a toy, he used his hand to knock down all the foam blocks, the teacher reprimanded him, then he came back and started to used both of his hands to pick up large blocks in order to rebuild using the large foam blocks. He started playing with this ring toy where he stabilized the base and used the fingers of his other hands (finger and thumb) to remove the rings, which could be seen as building early. (Building middle at times as he was eating a cookie during snack time and was holding the cookie with his right hand while banging the table with his left hand.) I noticed the child using one hand to hold on the paper he was coloring, and then using the color with the other hand to make scribbles. The color was like a combination of a color pencil as well as crayon.…

Brian (a pseudonym) is a young child in the group of early childhood (3-5 years) in the daycare located in the Psychology building. He seems to be of Hispanic background and speaks English. He has nice clothing which suggests he is from a nice home with a family that provides clothing and food normally. He always seemed to be smiling even when not talking proposing that he is a relatively happy child. He spent most of the observation running around which brought me to the conclusion that he is relatively healthy because he rarely was out of breath.…

The setting of my 2nd focus child was a Little Bucs in the preschool room (Inventors) in the classroom, but we did visit the ETSU library during my first observation. They are 48 months-60 months. I observed a 48 month old, male. I will refer to the student I observed as "P." I observed from 10:00-11:30 both sessions. The classroom was reasonably big, but the floor was opened with toys and an upstairs area where the students can go and hang up there.…
My child observation and classroom observation took place at the Mt. San Jacinto Child Development and Education center in the preschool/pre-k (ages 36 months to 54 months) program room. This classroom has 2 teachers and 15 children in attendance during my observation. My study child is a male student age 4 who for this assignment I will refer to as C. The classroom environment as a whole can handle the children within the program, however I will provide a better picture of the entire room to have a clear picture for reflection. As a child walking into this classroom you feel a sense of warmth of both the environment and also from the teacher as she greats all her children individually.…

Children exhibit a wide array of significant and fascinating behaviors throughout childhood. These behaviors are essential to their growth and can characterize their entire childhood. Studying and analyzing the behavior of children during childhood development will lead to a deeper understanding of how kids grow physically, emotionally, cognitively and socially. Observing a child in their natural setting is a superb way to examine and track specific behaviors. For this project I observed a male, six-year-old child coming home from school and subsequently going about his normal routine at his grandmother’s house.…
First, I will be observing a traditional classroom (my Integrated Science class) to look at the traditional learning environment in a classroom then I will be going to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown International festival to see a unique learning environment. While there, I will be looking for how people approach one another in the setting, how questions are asked, and the differences/similarities between the two educational settings. Finally, I am seeking to find how the educational process and approach differs and is similar between the two settings. Observation 1: Integrated Science Classroom in Biddle…

For my observation paper I visited Hilltop Child Development Center and spent an hour in a preschool classroom. The children were having free time when I arrived. Some were flipping through picture books, others were doing crafts, and one particular boy, was playing with dinosaurs. This boy’s name was Ben and I decided to focus my attention on him. Throughout this hour I took note on his level of social, emotional, and physical development in order to determine his chronological age.…
