Ciara no longer felt the excitement and joy she once felt for her new and future life. She just went through the motions of each day as if she was a living zombie with a broken heart. Even though she had dreamed of getting away from her mother and Karl, she never wanted Roisin out of her life completely. Ciara still loved her. However, that love was now dead and buried six feet under the ground. Like every other day before, Ciara slowly woke up and got ready for work. She then made her way into Killian’s kitchen, where he had breakfast waiting for her on the table. She knew that she was lucky to have a friend like him. It felt good to have someone who cared about her and took care of her for once. Much like the morning, Ciara went …show more content…

As she closed up her last box, Killian walked in the door. “Why are you packing up your things?” he asked her with a worried look on his face. “You don’t need to leave. I said you could stay here as long as you wanted.” She sat the box down and walked over to him. “I know that and I truly appreciate all of the help you have given me,” she replied. “Deaglan offered me an apartment rent free and I am taking him up on the offer.” A look of fear and dread shot across Killian’s face. “You have to return the keys and decline the offer immediately!” he shouted. “You have no idea what kind of man Deaglan is and he never does anything without expecting something in return!” Ciara slowly walked over to him and placed her hands in his. “I know that his offer wasn’t truly free, but I need my own place.” Killian grabbed her hands. “You have made a deal with the devil himself. Whoever makes a deal with the devil gets burnt.” Trying her best to reassure him, she replied, “I know that he is not a good man, but I don’t think that he is the devil. Plus, I don’t think that he could do any worse to me that hasn’t already been done.” She leaned forward and gave Killian a kiss on the cheek. Ciara then grabbed her last box and …show more content…
Killian’s last words echoed through her mind. She was worried that what he had said was true and that she HAD made a deal with the devil. However, she finally had her own place and she could have a new life. She grabbed her new keys and made her way to the door. She turned the key and slowly opened the door to her new home. Her eyes could not believe what they were seeing. The apartment looked like something out of a home décor magazine with designer fixtures and furnishings everywhere. In her wildest imagination, she could have never imagined that she would ever live in a place like this. She slowly walked around, trying to take everything in. Her eyes twinkled and her smile grew more and more as she walked into each room. As Ciara made her way into the kitchen, she saw a vase of fresh flowers sitting on the kitchen table with a note. She slowly picked up the note and opened it. It read, “I hope that you enjoy your new place and your new life.” It was signed by “Your New Friend, Deaglan”. She smiled and thought to herself, “See, he can’t be that bad.” Ciara set the note back down on the table and walked outside to begin the process of
