The three freedoms that are the same are freedom of malnutrition, freedom of discomfort, and freedom from pain. In these pictures the animals are not malnourished and have no injuries. Then the animals will also be given shelter and an area for rest, no matter how they are used. The difference between these animals is that the horse in the circus will not be able to have the freedom to express normal behavior. This horse in the circus will have to perform irrelevant tasks that a horse in normal conditions would not perform. Then in the dressage competition the rider is supposed to show off the normal movements of a horse. The horse in the dressage competition will also be around other horses, whereas the horse in the circus could be around any sort of animals. Finally, the last freedom that is different is the freedom of fear and distress. The horse in the circus could be spooked from plenty of the other animals in the show and including the environment the horse is put in. These horses are both used for a business, but the horse in dressage competitions is more of a companion animal because there must be a close connection between the horse and rider.
