I. Introduction: The Lottery and American Civil War “Although the Villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original black box, they still remembered to use stones” (Jackson). Mr. Summers is ready to set the black box down and places slips of paper in the slot found in the middle top part of the box. The winning prize is stoning.
It shows that there are connections and similarities between the Citizen (villagers) in the short story, the Lottery and the Civil War, US (1861-1865) by Slavery in the United States, President Abraham Lincoln, & etc. which can be compared by 1) Behavior, 2) Murder, and 3) Slavery. In the stories, there are different similarities between fictional and non-fictional, but conflict between the human compulsion towards savagery and the rules of civilization which are designed to contain and minimize it are called Civilization vs. Savagery. They were both brought into the world to show or display the survival of winning, losing, gambling, domination, survivor, and freedom toward concerning others.

An absence of slavery and freedom can be imposed rules and let everyone have an identi ty. Even though, they still have the same difference way, but they still have similarities between civilizations vs. savagery. Both have an advanced state of intellectual and both have the property of being untamed and cruelty. However, if the lottery and the American civil war have been shown love, families, respectful and bonding, this may have been the most masterpiece story in the
