This area will have purple rugs and purple lighting. The storage areas will be from floor to ceiling to create a clear division and sound barrier to the rest of the classroom. Students will be given time in the room to be able to have their sensory needs meet. In the sensory center there will be a large digital stop watch and visual timers for students or staff to set when they enter the area.
Communication center will be colored with teal color. The furniture, lighting and rugs will be teal. The shelves on the side will be taller and stocked with different games and other social items to get the students talking. The shelves will be clearly labeled with what goes in the area, how many players needed and what level the game is. This area will be an area that students are giving time to work on those skills learned in group. Once a week students will be inviting other students into this area to have lunch or snack. This is a very relaxed environment and is not meant for initial instruction of
