I feel that there are behavioral issues in this class when Dr. Logue is not present. When Dr. Loge is not here, many people watch videos on their iPads that are not related to their school work. They watch these videos while wearing headphones. Also when Dr. Logue is not here, the class gets very chatty and way to loud a lot of times and despite being told to quite down by Miss Helena, kids start talking to loudly within a couple minutes. I feel that people do get their work done that is assigned by Dr. Logue, but once they are finished it sort of seems like a free for all at times and kids don't know how to control themselves. I feel that my behavior has been good for the most part in this class. I will admit that when Dr. Logue is not here …show more content…
Logue is not present. Miss Helena allows us to do our work with our friends and sit with them, but it usually ends up getting to loud and when she tells people to quite down people almost mock her and make up an excuse as to why they are being loud instead of just saying "ok I will" and shutting up. People also do things they are not supposed to do on their iPads while Miss Helena is here and when Miss Helena questions them about it they come up with excuses and try to make her look stupid instead of just getting off whatever your doing and doing other class work. No matter how many times Miss Helena tells kids to quite down, the kids always talk loudly again and again. This show no respect towards Miss Helena who has authority over us and is trying to do her best. I do believe there is also times when Miss Helena is a little to quick to yell at someone for talking amongst one another when our work is done, but there is a lot of times when the students deserve to be yelled at. People think they can get away with disrespecting Miss Helena because she is from a different country, but that is completely wrong. She's human too and deserves the utmost respect from us as a

Disappointments Since I started the ACCG950 course, there are not many disappointed points. I would say that my disappointment relates to the location of our classroom and the attendant of students. Firstly, I acknowledge that the classroom was changed because the room is too small for all students. With your concerns, the new room is big enough for all students; however, the number of students attending the lecture has been low.…

Cowan made it clear to everyone, she wasn’t taking any “simple” actions from a sixth grader. Ms. Cowan was the type of teacher that made a kid cry everyday in her classroom. Ms. Cowan had us walking in the halls in a uniformed as if it was military school. When we first meet her on the first day of school she was not trying to get to know her new class. But, since it's a human instinct to seek attention from another human being.…

Mica Auguste Mr. Alvarez Intro to education, Period 5 19 October 2017 Case study #5 In a classroom environment, there are many different interruptions and distractions. These distractions can range from people in the classroom to the problems that occur out side of the classroom but are brought inside of the classroom environment. While observing in Beth Johnston’s First Grade classroom at Eugene Field Elementary School, I have noticed some effective and ineffective classroom management practices that she uses while I have been in the classroom. One effective classroom management technique that I have observed is that Mrs. Johnston puts her student’s desks into groups of three or four. This is an effective technique because she puts her strong students with her not as strong students, which can help with the students who might need a little help staying on track with the lesson that they are supposed to get done. Also, Mrs. Johnston has changed the groups a couple of times since I have been observing in the classroom. This I believe is effective because the students…

English has never been a strong suit of mine. Why Siena Heights placed me in English 102 will always be a mystery to me. English 102 is a class designed to teach students how to think critically, communicate effectively, and show effective use of technology. This is done through the study of summaries, grammar and sentence mechanics, argumentative practices, and structural development. This course is effective in teaching these objectives due to the clarity of the information presented, the personality of the teacher, and the types of assignments that were assigned.…

Imagine walking into a 21st Century classroom; one expects to find engaged students working diligently to complete a task whether that be an art project, algebraic equations, or a research project. Some students will work quietly, confident they are on the right track. Others are unsure of what to do and look nervously around the room hoping the teacher will notice them and offer assistance. Still others disconnect completely and play games on their phone or stare blankly into space. The teacher is moving from student to student, checking in with each one.…

This was a great choice for me because this is the grade I hope to be assigned to teach. Do to some problems with getting our practicum schools set we started much later into the school year than was originally planned and it put us into the classrooms during the State Testing practice weeks. Therefore, most of my time observing this class was watching the administration of a never-ending string of practices tests. I am saddened to admit that there is little I feel I need to share with you since my students behave no differently and the assignments have been easier. The past four weeks have been filled with simple in-class assignments acting as attendance markers. I even find myself feeling less engaged with the pedagogy process because it feels like my students do not care to learn, but rather simply receive an “easy A.” With my sections, I have discovered that regardless of how interactive I design class, the students give me the same indifferent reaction. Even the overall attendance is down in my sections; students miss in-class assignments and complain when they notice a grade of 0 for discussion sections they have missed. I have become accustomed…

In addition, I plan to always give my students a “heads up” about what is going on. If the schedules, routines, and transitions are planned beforehand and students know what to expect, I will be setting myself up for a classroom with much greater success. Lastly, I was again reminded of the importance of relationships. In my own classroom someday, I will strive to develop connections with each and every one of my students. If this is done, managing my classroom will come much more easily.…
