• There was a small break before calendar and I sat with him and read Clifford the Big Red Dog with him. The book title was Clifford picking Apples and Pumpkins. As I read each page I asked him a different question. The question I asked on every page was where is Clifford, and every time he pointed to were he was. I asked him what sound does a cow make and he said Moo. I asked him what sound a pig makes and he said oink. I then asked him what sound a dog makes and he said Roof Roof. I asked him to point to the apples on the tree and he did so then he said yum yum and made the eat sign in sign language. This was out of nowhere without being asked and I responded to him with a smile and said yes they are yummy and delicious. I was proud of him

“The Boy Who Was Raised As a Dog” by Dr. Bruce D. Perry is an extraordinary book following many cases of child trauma that Dr. Perry has worked on. In each of its 10 chapters it describes one child who experienced trauma and how it affected them and Dr. Perry tries to find out why they turned out the way they did. It is really interesting as he isn’t trying to prove or disprove anything, he just is figuring out how experiences when you are young can affect you later on. Even though most people don’t experience things like this it helps him to better understand the human mind and human reaction to trauma.…

On the article “Sirius Black Man or Dog?” by Eric Saidel, the author explained about the concept on whether Sirius Black, a character on the Harry Potter series, have the mind of a dog or a human when he transformed into Padfoot. The author’s thought process was back and forth towards the theories that he had already said and dismisses them but later on bring back again to reevaluate. There are strengths and weaknesses that the author had made while writing this article, just like bringing back dismissed topics, not binging other character that could back up his main point, and not making it clear as to what the author argument really is about. Saidel brought up four topics that he easily dismisses in the beginning, “[if] Padfoot has the mind of Sirius and the body of the dog, [if] Padfoot has the mind of a dog and the body of a…

    The Outsiders Book Report

The message that S.E. Hinton was trying to tell readers through the book The Outsiders is that one should not judge a book by its cover. An example of this would be how Ponyboy thought that all Socs are bad because they were Socs. But once Ponyboy got to know Cherry and Randy, he realized that they weren’t the violent, snobbish, rich kids that many people he thought that they were. Ponyboy didn’t get to know those two until later on in the book so throughout the book, he had a distorted vision that all Socs had a perfect life so he always hated the Socs for having everything that he wished that he had. After he met them and got to talk to them, he saw a side to the Socs that no one had seen before.…

After reading the whole book it made me sad. Everything that John Grady Cole goes through and that he ends up with nothing. He left home as a young boy but he came home a man. With everything he went through he had no past experiences with being on his own and all the world has to offer. I picked this book because when I got this assignment I researched a few of the books and read the description of them, and All The Pretty Horses stuck out to be the most interesting to me.…

I asked Alex if he wanted to go with me and he said he would have to see, he texted me later and said that he would love to go and that his mom could drive us both there.…

The book Oryx and Crake is a speculative fiction (as described by the author) written by Margaret Atwood, a Canadian author; it was a great success in the year of its publication and was a finalist for multiple awards. The book takes place in a dystopian future where humans have been killed off by a deadly man-made virus, and through a series of flashbacks from the sole survivor readers are told of what had taken place. It transports readers from a post apocalyptic world where a man named Snowman (the remaining human) is living as a protector of a species of bioengineered people -- called the 'children of Crake' or 'Crakers' -- to within his memories of before the epidemic. This book serves as a powerful reminder to its readers that when one is trying to accomplish great things one cannot do it without deception and destruction. Two examples of such people are the main characters Snowman and his dead best friend Crake --…
