There are those who believe human produced CO2 is re-absorbed by oceans, forests, and other "carbon sinks," nullifying any climate changes. About 50% of the carbon released by burning of fossil fuels is reabsorbed by carbon sinks. This means our Earth is taking care of our greenhouse gases problem and in fact, it’s not a problem. Forests increased in growing rates from the rising excess levels of carbon. They in turn lower the atmospheric CO2 levels. Another example where our environment is taking care of business is a study form 2002-2011 where 26% of human caused CO2 emissions were absorbed by the world’s oceans. The rate of global carbon uptake by carbon sinks doubled over a 50-year period and shows signs of continual …show more content…
There is a specific type of Carbon dioxide being released into our atmosphere that can be directly attributed to human activity. This human induced carbon is produced by burning fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, and can be differentiated in the atmosphere from that of natural carbon by analyzing the specific isotopic ratios. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the leading international body for the assessment of climate change, recent measurements of carbon isotope ratios in the atmosphere affirm rising carbon levels are the consequence of human activity (IPCC). Not only is there an overwhelming amount of prof to place responsibility of climate change on our activity, 83.5% of climate scientists believe human activity is to blame (D. Bray and H. von
