Coastal resilience and sea level rise has been unusually high measuring about 5 inches more than New York. Norfolk and parts of the Chesapeake area are of most threat in the Tidewater region. We are in a point in time where coastal resilience has been a focus point after all the catastrophic events that have been occurring in our area such as hurricanes and floods from coastal storms. According to an article on pilotonline.com, a newly formed nonprofit organization called RISE, are looking to improve the threats of sea level rise. I feel strongly about this situation because eventually, this problem could cause grave effect to our tidewater region.
