The purpose of this lab is to determine the Ka of an indicator within an unknown solution. This can be determined because acid-base indicators are weak bases or acids, and when neutralized they change colors. The color change is measured by the light absorption spectra in the compound which can be used to calculate the concentration. This experiment measures the concentrations by the different pH values which allows the pKa and Ka to be determined. Through the experiment, and the recorded color change with the use of the Spec 20 the unknown Ka of the solution was found.…
When I first signed up for color guard, I was just following the lead of my older sister who was also doing it. Thinking this was going to be an easy experience I soon realized that it was nothing how I thought it was going to be. After getting to feel this amazing feeling after my first performance, color guard also became a passion of mine. Color guard is can be found in most middle schools, high schools and universities.…
J.D Salinger uses color within the book Catcher in the Rye to help him establish and bring out themes appropriately. The evaluation results of the isolated strain's ability to grow on various concentrations of dyes, showed that the bacteria codes 1 and 3 had a good growth until the concentrations of 9000 mg/L of both dyes and bacteria code 2 had a good growth on the medium supplemented with the RB-5 and RR-120 dyes, until the maximum concentration of the dyes was 2000 mg/l and 3000 mg/l, respectively. So, it seems, this property of bacteria can be used, for decolorization of the high color…
