Napoleon's rise to power happens fast and gave him complete power. He started by changing the rule about no animal was to sleep in a bed. This being the first amendment which stated “no animal shall sleep in a bed”(21)allowing pigs to sleep in beds shocked the rest of the farm but that's not all he follows this up by changing the clothes law than the alcohol law. After this he breaks the killing low by hosting executions. Than finally he breaks the law about walking on two legs and makes a final change about not all animals being equal.

The only reason why they didn't call napoleon out was because of squealer. Squealer would reassure the animals that they were wrong on issues. Issues like the apple issuer were squealer said this”Milk and apples this has been proved by Science, comrades contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig”(31). This propaganda was spread by the pigs and allowed the pigs to trick the animals into accepting their form of the truth.
Animal farm started off with perfect ideas and slowly changed into a one pig ruled oppressed state. Napoleon was constantly updating the laws to where he was always right and nobody could stop him. Napoleon looked after nobody but himself causing suffering and many animals confused on what the law was. Finally the animals were living a lie due to the propaganda spread by squealer and napoleon. All of this lead to the dystopia that is the manor
