At the Elkton house I am constantly working on something, whether it is for school or something extracurricular. Weekdays are spent in a constant frenzy of school work and sports. There is never time for me to just lie down and do nothing. Even when I feel like I’ve caught up, there is always another job to do. The time between homework and school is when I sleep. Depending on the night I get six or seven hours of sleep. At the river house, there is always free time. Occasionally, a chore like mowing the lawn or making my bed comes up, but those tasks can easily be put aside. I rarely bring homework to the house because I know that I won't do it. Each house has tiny blemishes that make it unique. The shower in the Elkton house whistles; it is annoying, but I would miss it if it ever went away. In my room at the river house, the fan light constantly burns out and leaves me in the dark. Even when it is working, I turn on my phone flash light, so I don't trip over anything. Family makes a house a home. While my brother is at college, my mom and dad are all the only ones around that are constantly looking out for me. Neither house would mean anything without them. My parents raised me; all of the free time not working is because of the hard work they put in throughout their lives. I light up when I walk into my house because they are there. Lastly, both houses have memories. They might be unique to the place, but that does not change the significance. I love all the times I went out wake boarding with my friends or family at the river house. At the Elkton house, I enjoy all the times my friends and I go down to the pond. Both houses are important to me in many ways. My house in Elkton and my river house are different because of what we do their, the amount of down time, and the feel of each one. There are similarities, too. Both aren't perfect, have family, and are full of lifelong memories. I would not be who I am as a person without the consistency of the normal house and the endless possibilities of the river house. Both are a big part of
