Compare And Contrast The Maze Runner

Decent Essays
The Maze runner was a book that came out in 2009 and the movie came out in 2014. There is a ton of similarities and differences in the movie and the book. Like the characters attitude, the maze, the way they got out and the death of Chunk.

One difference would be, the runners do mapping every day. From the map the maze forms codes that eventually help them escape the maze. In the movie there are no maps it is a 3D model of the maze. The code to exit the maze comes from the pattern, come from, which section is open everyday. Another difference to me would be the character Minho attitude. To me is calmer and cooler in the movie and seems to be like a hot head in the book. My other difference I see is Gally seemed to been stung before Thomas

The novel and the movie, while sharing many similarities, have multiple differences that make them unique. The novel is dense and rich with interesting details that the reader uncovers over the course of the plot. The movie, on the other hand, is action-packed and dramatized to give the viewer a more captivating experience. Some of the most notable differences are; character development, scenes and dialog, and how the end has been changed to make the movie more engaging. While the book goes into more detail with certain characters, the movie is more condensed and often more dramatic than the original novel.…

The Maze Runner, written by James Dashner is introducing a dystopian society. The individual boys have to find out why they all are in a Glade together and why they are in a horrifying environment that is like a prison. The book is about a group of intelligent teenagers trying to escape a seemingly unsolvable Maze, which is a test to see who can survive. The novel Maze Runner by James Dashner is better in comparison to the movie as the book is more descriptive, the ending is better and the book has information the movie does not.…

Some more differences are that in the book the Indian doesn’t want to build a cabin, like he does in the movie. In the movie, when Spitz dies, they automatically put Buck in Spitz’s place, but in the book the owners hesitate. When John Thornton is mentioned in the movie he was mentioned at the end, and in the movie the owner is mentioned at the beginning. Also in the movie someone tells Perrault that his sled team has to go, but in the book it doesn’t. One last thing is…

The movie and the book are very different because of the different mood it sets on the audience, the way the mystery was solved and how the characters acted. The mood that the book sets is more of a mysterious mood rather than what the movie is a scary or on the edge of your seat mood. These different types of moods affect how people think of this story. There are multiple differences between the book and the movie of the Hunger Games. These differences can be found throughout the story. One major difference can be found in the introductions. The introduction to the movie and book are very different in the aspect that the book shows the world through Katniss’s perspective only so you get the idea of her waking up and comforting her sister, Prim, on the morning of the reaping before going into the woods to hunt. In the movie, the introduction is an interview between Caesar Flickerman and Seneca Crane on what he thought about that year’s games and tributes.…

The novel gives a lot more in depth information than the movie. The film doesn't have as much information but it does include extra scenes that are not in the book, such as the scene where George is on the train, the flashback of the riot chasing the two men, and George and Lennie boarding a bus to their new workplace. These new scenes are added to the movie for simplification of the story and entertainment. The director of the film Gary Sinise used film techniques such as flashbacks. The use of flashbacks in this film was used to set the story scenes chronologically in order.…
