Every American citizen can vote above the age of eighteen. The people can only elect the electoral college, not the President itself. Every state has as much electors as the number of its representations and senators together. Not everybody can become the President of the United States or the vice-president. The candidates have to be at least thirty-five years old, and have to live in the United States since at least fourteen years before the election. According to the XXII. As we can see Iran has a really complex political system. It is dominated by priests, but to some extent controlled by the people (elections).
