Comparing Beowulf And Lebron

Improved Essays
Everyone has a hero, either it's their mom, dad, family member, or whoever it maybe. A hero to me is someone who drives you to do better and that can be anyone. Beowulf was the anglo- saxon’s hero because he was believed to be the man and the most powerful during his reign, my hero isn’t even a powerful fighter but he as strong and considered a king and that is Lebron James. To me he is a leader, very reliable, and will be unforgettable, and Beowulf and Lebron has a lot of similar traits
During the Anglo-saxon period Beowulf was the king of the Geats. “I shall fulfill that purpose, prove myself with a proud deed or meet my death here in the mead-hall." (632-638) As king you are supposed to run and protect your kingdom which is basically your

“Nor have I seen a mightier man-at-arms on this earth than the one standing here: unless I am mistaken, he is truly noble. This is no mere hanger-on in a hero's armour." (244-251) Beowulf was always there when the geats were in trouble. Either it was the dragon, grendel or grendel’s mom. The thing with lebron is that he shows up when his team needs him. He lead the whole finals in every category in basketball, therefore his team relies on him to do great because if don't then the outcome won't be too great.
The last comparison of the two heroes is that the both are unforgettable.”In the end each clan on the outlying coasts beyond the whale-road had to yield to him and began to pay tribute. That was one good king.” (9-11) Anglo-saxons still are telling the stories of Beowulf and his heroic deeds today. He was the bravest and most powerful king that they had. Whenever lebron retires he will be placed in the hall of fame, and will be remember forever. Lebron will be remembered as the king of our era.
So if you thinking bout a hero, that’s my explanation of one. A leader, reliable, and unforgettable. Everyone has a different hero and some might have the same , and that is my hero and how he compares to the hero of the anglo-saxon

The majority of people have their own definition of a hero, my definition is, a hero is someone that fights for what they believe in, no matter the consequences. Like Beowulf for example, stood up for the people of Heorot when Grendel started to attack, and he also went after the dragon to protect his people. Another hero to me would be Boo Radley. Both Boo, and Beowulf fought for what they thought was right, and also changed how people thought of them.…
