Copy Off of Each Other’s Homework

There are many reasons why sharing homework among students is detrimental to all parties involved. There are is a multitude of reasons that are fairly obvious why letting another student copy off of another student’s homework is a bad idea. Letting a student copy off of another student’s homework not only has a negative effect on the student who copied the homework and the student who let the other student copy off of their homework , but it also can affect other students in my class and the teacher of that class. It seems like the students are the only people affected by copying homework, but this is simply not the case. It is the teacher’s job to educate their students. If a student seems to be doing well and understanding a subject because they are copying homework from another student. This doesn’t seem like a big deal at first, one would think it would just be a negative consequence for the student who copied another student’s homework, but while that is true it also hurts the teacher. The teacher isn’t going to spend an excessive amount of time on a subject it appears all of the students, or at least a majority of the students are understanding the subject material. This means that the teacher is going to think they are accomplishing their jobs so the students are going to do well on the end of year tests. The end of year tests affect the teachers in a very real way. The end of year test can even affect how much the teacher gets paid and other things that affect the teacher’s life. It also takes a teacher's valuable time away from them. If students are caught copying each other’s homework the teacher has to take time to reprehend them. The teachers want to make sure their students are understanding what they are being taught and when students copy each other’s homework this ability is taken away from them unjustly. As a student who has their homework done, the student could encourage the student to do their own homework the next time and offer to hold the other person accountable to getting their homework done so there is motivation for the student who didn’t do their homework to have their homework done on time. The student who gets their homework done on time could also offer to help the student who didn’t get their homework done on time build a schedule that sets up a specific time for studying and doing homework in their own time so the student who doesn’t have their homework done can have a specific time previously allotted to do their own homework. If either of those previous options are offered to the student who doesn’t get their homework done on time the student would probably feel less overwhelmed by their homework and do their homework on time. If the student who doesn’t have their homework on time doesn’t feel overwhelmed by their homework they are going to be more likely to do their own homework so there is not going to even be a need for the student who doesn’t have their homework done to copy off of the student who has their homework done in the first place. The student who doesn’t have their homework done on time might not be doing their homework during the time allotted for them to complete their homework

Did you know, homework was viewed as a sin during the Progressive Era because it deprived children from their play time? Today, society is expressing similar concerns. Homework seldom improves academic performance. Sure, through homework one can get high scores in a standardized test, but in my own point of view using standardized tests as indicators of how well a student understands a lesson can be inaccurate. Students tend to memorize and not understand the lesson in means of studying for a test.…

Since the era of technology has revolutionized the world, one can google anything. This has made it easier to catch those who plagiarize a simple sentence. Causing extreme consequences like terminating a student’s school or future job careers. Homework has been given out for as long as we can remember, but has it ever had a positive effect? Many students and families have been complaining about homework for a while and it has become a well know problem for everyone. Although homework can help students that need extra practice, homework sometimes hurts test and quiz scores, which is why students should receive less homework each night. Homework often takes away from family time and extracurricular activities, and too much homework affects students’ health and leads to stress. There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…

Family time has been cut out of their life just to keep up with their work. It’s hard for children to see their parents if they have tons of homework and the parent has to work a lot. Homework should be given as optional if the students want to help their grade. Understanding the homework would be easier if it was just classwork because the teacher would be able to help guide through it. Some may argue that homework is a good thing because it helps with…

Homework has several benefits and is important to a child’s success. Specifically, homework can be beneficial to a student’s academic achievements. The use of daily homework assignments can help students better obtain information which has previously been taught. A student who is introduced to an idea during class, then given an assignment, allows them to practice and grasp a better understanding of the concept. The aid provided from homework then opens up more time for further learning in the classroom.…
