“No. There’s no way in hell this could happen.” Wyatt spoke, starting to get irritated.
“Sir, this case is ours, they can’t just take it,” Liam told him, gritting his teeth.
Liam and I got so pissed off after what happened in the interrogation room and there was no way that we were going give up on the case without a fight so we went to Wyatt and told him about what happened, and we asked him to let us work on the case but unfortunately, he wasn’t very fond of our idea.
“No, it’s not yours. This case always belonged to the organized crime division.” Wyatt said, giving Liam a hard look.

I felt that his words were directed to me so I decided to answer him. I cleared my throat and looked at him. “We’re specialized in homicides and it plays a huge part in the case. We could work alongside the organized crime division and that isn’t something new, a lot of divisions come together sometimes to solve different cases.” I said, hoping that I could convince him. “We could find something or do a difference even if it was minor. Ryan. My office, now!” He yelled before going back to his office to wait for us there.
I guess words spread around here really fast. Liam and took a deep breath before walking to his office.
“So, you went against what I said and went to the director!” He said, gritting his teeth.
“Sir, we just needed a chance,” I spoke up.
“A chance to prove what?” He asked with a raised eyebrow. “You both are good agents but you are just going to waste time. You will find nothing!”
I have no idea why he was really opposing to the idea but it was starting to get on my nerves. “There’s no shame in trying, sir.”
He gave me a harsh look. “I hope you’re not doing that because of another reason, Alex. Because you will be going after a false hope.”
His words irritated me, I knew exactly what he meant. “Don’t worry, sir. I don’t have any hope to chase after.” I told him before excusing myself, Liam followed after me.
“Don’t let what he said get to you,” Liam said, walking beside me.
I nodded. “What we do now?” I asked.
He smirked. “Now, we go and have a celebratory drink. I believe we have quite a long day ahead of us tomorrow.”
