Next thing I know is my nose meets the crisp air and there is some screaming goin' on between Scout an' that older brother of hers.
"You're bigger'n he is," the brother said.

She then mentioned the lunch their family had planned for today. I knew that I probably should just return to the farm and see what I can sneakily pick out of the few things growin' there. It was quite the dilemma: goin' with the Finch's when I knew for certain that Scout dislikes me. I felt somethin' pushing me to go with the two, instead of standin' here like the pathetic boy I am, deciding if I want a real meal or not. Scout did mention they were havin' butterbeans... it's been so long since I even smelt the aroma of a butterbean. The two began walkin' down the cracked sidewalk, and suddenly my mouth opened and words spit out without my full approval.

Having Mr. Finch teach me would be nice, but I would have to pay him back even more than I already am. I couldn’t put my family through that. It'd be too selfish of me... plus his son already got me in his house, eatin' their food. I can't be tricked
