The environment will encourage learning by integrating philosophy, evidence base, and technology, while at the same time delivering empathy and sensitivity, as taught by Florence Nightingale. Excellence and good moral values will be promoted while being respectful of the individual, their family, disease and privacy. Placing value on the student to acquire and achieve all the necessary education to work independently in a critical care unit.
Philosophy of the Program The philosophy of this program is to enable teaching to the individuals so they can render human and caring services. It is said that “the Caring-human Science philosophy informs the content and focus of the curriculum, as well as pedagogical framework related to teaching and learning” (Lewis, Rogers, & Naef, 2006, p. 33). Using this philosophy will enable learning on a whole different level, that will make it exceptional while fostering respect for every person (Lewis, Rogers, & Naef, 2006, p. 32).
