Both of these leaders were strong and powerful but not able to lead a strong and happy environment. Manor Farm is run a whole lot like Russian with unfair and oppressive policies. Both of the leaders are overthrown by an unseen enemy that had be oppressed and neglected. The rebellion for the animals is inspired by Old major who represents Lenin or Marx. Just like the Russian peasant are unhappy at this time so are the animals at Manor farm. This unhappiness leads to the revolt and fight for their freedom. The pigs in the novel take charge and assume power and they represent the soviets, whatever they say all the other animals assume what they are saying is true (G.). They are rallied together through the words of Old Major who urges them to revolt just as the Russian lower class were driven to revolt by the ideas of Karl Marx. Old Major taught the animals a song called Beasts of England, the song inspired the animals and gave them a reason to fight,the song is very similar to the communist beliefs Marx taught the Russian peasants and lower class. Animalism, the idea they created to represent what the animals stand for parallels communism. The Revolution in Russia is a mirror to the revolt that the animals have. Trotsky and Stalin were the right hand men and main supporters of the March Revolution. They later became enemies and struggled for power of the communist party just like napoleon and snowball. Napoleon and snowball and skirmishes about ideas and who would take charge. Napoleon, won power by force, just like Stalin did. Later Snowball was forced to leave Animal Farm and Trotsky was banished from Russia and he escaped to Mexico. Napoleon manipulates the animals, breaks the rules of Animal Farm, and abuses his power.
