‘The Death of a Bachelor’: A visual synthesis in enjoying life. The visual text that it’s being analyzed is the album cover for ‘The Death of a Bachelor’ by Panic! at The Disco (See Appendix A). The image is a photo taken by Brendon Urie’s friend. A car is seen in the pool. However, the car is just a drawing. The car is the first thing that one focuses on since it’s a bit larger than everything else. In this cover one can see the lead singer Urie laying on the rooftop naked. Also, it appears as if Urie had a big party and he had a lot of drinks. The title of the album appears on the bottom right corner in yellow letters. It can be desire because since the singer needs strength to overcome his problem he has the desire of overcoming his problems. Energy can be another meaning of the color red. Not only because Panic! At the Disco has very energetic songs, but also because of what the cover shows. Red is mostly used compare to white. The red color means energy since the singer had a lot of energy at the party, which he will need later that

The purpose of this lab is to determine the Ka of an indicator within an unknown solution. This can be determined because acid-base indicators are weak bases or acids, and when neutralized they change colors. The color change is measured by the light absorption spectra in the compound which can be used to calculate the concentration. This experiment measures the concentrations by the different pH values which allows the pKa and Ka to be determined. After reading the article, The Trouble with Colour Blindness by Paulker & Apfelbaum, my overall opinion is that racism still exists in this day and age. This article mentions where in several instances, white police officers have shot unarmed black teenagers; in my opinion, I find that most of these police officers are trigger happy individuals, they tend to shoot first and ask questions later. Moreover, as mentioned in the article, grade school children rarely talk about race, because kids at an early age are learning that even acknowledging race is frowned upon (Paulker & Apfelbaum, 2015). Similarly, I find that most individuals tend to stay away from the topics of talking about different cultures, races and ethnicities at schools, child-care…
