One ordinary afternoon, the sun was glaring on the television, the air conditioning was clanging, the stove whistling, with the smell of Texas coming from our kitchen. Me and my brothers, Luke and A.J., were watching nickelodeon. While we were watching tv a commercial came on, “Take a Player to School”. The commercial exhibited many professional athletes visiting many various schools. One player on the commercial that caught Luke’s eye was Michael Strahan. Not only was he one of the captains of New York Giants, our favorite team, he was Luke’s favorite player. As soon as he saw that commercial he darted to my mom in the kitchen howling, “I want to bring Michael Strahan to school!” over and over again. My mom didn’t understand until she walked into the living room seeing the end of the commercial for herself. She agreed to sign up for the sweepstakes just so he would stop asking her. Also since it was free so there wasn’t any harm in entering, even though there was no way we would win. About a month later, it was just another ordinary day, while my brothers and I …show more content…
We all ran outside to the limo. There were about ten people with cameras who left the limo before him, but then he exited the limo. He was a huge 6’5 professional athlete wearing a light blue dress shirt. Also, he had a gap in between his two front teeth wider than my finger. I just wanted to run and jump on him I was so excited. He gave us each a signed copy of his new book. Then gave Luke a really cool Giant’s mask. After that my mom, my dad, Allison and Luke rode in the limo to the school. My crazy uncle picked me and AJ up at our house. After that he was supposed to drive me, AJ, and Skyler, our cousin, to pre-k, but instead on our way to pre-k he yelled, “Follow the limo!” After that ended up having a very, unordinary day, with crowds cheering, the sun shining, with one thought in my head, “I’m spending a day with Michael

Through his appeal to logic, timeliness, and his use of metaphors, he shows the reader how college football can be detrimental to the success of education in the United States. In his article, the narrator includes that “he loves sports” and “played them his entire life” to ensure readers that he is not just a hater of sports that never played (Salzburg 2). However, he deliberately states this to appeal directly to sports players and football fans. The author adequately writes a persuasive article that incorporates many literary techniques. Top Ten Position Needs for The Dallas Cowboys: Over the next few weeks I’ll be counting down the top ten needs by position for the Dallas Cowboys, as everyone is anxiously awaiting the off-season to fix all they saw go wrong in 2015. Many people have different ideas of how to fix this 4-12 mess, many with valid points. While I strongly support a best player available approach to the draft I’ve ranked the needs how I see them, feel free to debate. Another note, Dallas should have nine draft picks and I have ten needs; obviously they would have to address some in free agency and you should expect them to make a move or two.…

Wearing my white Tracy McGrady jersey that went down to my knees and blue jeans, and having my Rockets banner in hand, we walked down multiple flights of stairs to the bottom of the concrete structure.…

It was a brisk fall evening with the sun just about to set behind a hill. I was 10 years old, playing in my third season of football, and my first ever game under the bright lights surrounding the high school stadium. The time had finally come, the lights had been on and warming up for several minutes, I was going to play a game under the lights on the high school field. My team was soaking the turf with regret and yet the sad look I displayed became only means to pierce through the crowd. Football was a way of paying for the first three years of school and on that field I left every last drop of talent that I could display for the citizens of Scuba and Wiggins. The desire to become an actor gleamed throughout the arduous time of being a football player in MS, and I was reassured that acting, not football would be my future path.…
