"Thank you," Desiree said softly as she passed by Razio and into the cool evening air. Her hair fluttered around her as she turned to meet Razio's gaze once more. "I promise you don't have to try so hard to entertain me. Good conversation and a beautiful night make for a wonderfully entertaining evening." she smiled in an effort to assure Razio, "Besides it a blessing to catch my breath with everything that is happening. I knew what I was signing up for, but I didn't all at the same time. If that makes sense." Desiree laughed softly and looked back to Razio. "What is it you do?" Desiree asked with a curious tone.

The Telenovela, ‘’La Reina del Sur’’ presents the viewer with an unfamiliar thematic concept in any circumstance but even more so under the regular prejudices of Latin American television. The Telenovela attempts to address an area of narco history which has been previously banished to cultural myth, with the use of over dramatization and typical Latin flair which differs greatly to the journalistic writing style of Arturo Perez Reverte. The understanding of previous gender expectations helps contextualise the overriding theme at play within ‘’La Reina del Sur’’, as when searching for the history of ‘’Las bandidas’’ little information can be found, the suppression of this information can only be determined as an attempt to uphold the blanket…

Duccio and Giotto paint, arguably, their most influential pieces during the first decade of the twelfth century . Giotto is commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni in Padua to fresco the Arena Chapel to reconcile himself with God over the sins of his father’s usury. In contrast, Duccio is commissioned by the Church fathers of Sienna to paint a panel altarpiece for the Duomo . Giotto utilizes his private patronage to develop new principles of dramatic narrative while Duccio sticks to the Bible stories and develops a variation of Gothic style. Despite differences in technique, location and function of the work, and patronage, these two artists were united in creating a new form of visual language helping to launch the period art historians now call…
