It often makes me wonder if actual narcissistic people realize what they are doing. However, acting narcissistic is in no way my personality, therefore, it was very different for me and I immediately noticed others dislike of me. It lead me to believe that most narcissist people generally have no idea how others feel about them. I also learned that it is very comforting at times to like oneself favorably. It was much easier for me to go around acting like I did not care about anyone, instead of having to show feelings towards people. The textbook discusses how narcissism is slowly on the rise in our society (INSERT CITATION). I believe that it is because it is much easier for someone to care about themselves, than it is for them to care for other people. During the second half of my experiment, I learned that nobody likes a know it all. If you go about acting like you know all, people get very annoyed easily. I also found it intriguing, that my roommate not only conformed into giving up; he also conformed into believing that I had to be right and had to know it. He conformed so much that he believed the stats online to actually be wrong. I learned that, unlike I thought, people are actually extremely likely to conform, even if to just stop someone acting in an annoying manner. The book discusses how conformity is not only acting as another person acts, but it is also when they change their normal behavior or beliefs to fit the person they are conforming too (Myers, 2013). Not only about conformity, but the textbook also discusses obedience and compliance. To some extent, my roommate was complying with what I was subliminally saying. My roommate subliminally heard, “Ian is always right.” Therefore, after a while, he finally conformed and accepted his belief that I am always
