The story of Odysseus is riddled with adventure and excitement. Odysseus goes to war and remains missing from his wife and family for ten years. In his absence the queen feels as though she must pick a suitor for which will become the new King of Ithaca. Odysseus

As stated above, the wooers were under the impression that they could win the Queen’s hand in marriage. The Queen initiated this proposal after falling under the probable belief that her husband was dead. Likewise, the wooers shared the same sentiments. They began courting her in hopes to win her over and participated in trials and missions. Instead of actually seeking justice by trial with an investigation or imprisonment he takes the law for which could have changed within the 10 years that he was absent into his own hands. Instead, the suitors could have been apprehended and taken to a court and trial for whatever crimes they could but not likely have committed. Furthermore, Eumaeus tries to rightfully tell Odysseus who are the bad ones among them which furthers Odysseus rage. Moreover, no one should have been punished by death. Poseidon did not kill Odyssey even when he permanently blinded Poseidon's son. It was even by the Goddess Athena through Odysseus’ son who called for the suitors to court his mother. Also, Telemachus was targeted by only two suitors who planned to killed him. To that extent, Odysseus would have been validated in killing but only those two suitors. One would also note that the justice lies in the context of a culture. Nowhere in the story does it give a precedent where courting a queen is punishable by death especially when it’s prompted by the Queen

An example of this would be The Legend of Zelda, in which Link must rescue the land of Hyrule similar to how many Greek heroes had to save the world. People use mythology theory every day and don 't even realize it. From naming their dog Zeus after the Greek god of lightning to watching the anime Hetalia to understand history and cultures better. One movie that uses this theory is the 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou? directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.…

He ended up killing them all and punishing the housemaids that were involved with the wooers. Odysseus’s actions are justified, everyone, who did wrong, deserved the punishment they received, and the punishments were not too severe. Odysseus’s actions are justified because the wooers had invaded his kingdom, while he was away and planned on killing Telemachus and Odysseus. It was Odysseus’s kingdom and as king, he did what he had to do to protect himself, his family, and his kingdom. If Odysseus didn’t kill the wooers and take action, he and his family would have been killed and his kingdom would have been in chaos.…

However the character I chose, is Oedipus from the novel Oedipus Rex. He's the perfect example of someone who is searching for justice to save his city, and he won't rest until he accomplishes that. In the novel, Oedipus Rex, the city of Thebes is suffering Greg starvation.…

In some ways, his story can be compared to young King Josiah in the Bible who was also committed to cleaning up Judah of it’s corruption and sin. In the Bible, 2 Kings 23:25 says of King Josiah, where, “like unto him there no king before him, that turned to the Lord with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might.” Odysseus was a committed husband who could be both merciful (by sparing the bard Phemius) but also brutal (in how he dealt with his wife’s dozen of disloyal maidservants). Unfortunately, Odysseus’ conflict with the suitors turned into revenge giving him many reasons for wanting to kill the suitors: “[They] destroyed [Odysseus’] home, outraged [his]…
